Cancer Patient Care Fund Benefit 2019
When cancer strikes, a patient’s income often declines and their expenses rise. You may not realize this, but medical insurance doesn’t always cover the costs of prescriptions, which can cost thousands of dollars. The Cancer Patient Care Fund provides this important financial assistance to cancer patients in our community for cancer-related expenses, like prescriptions and travel etc.
Without the Cancer Patient Care Fund, many patients would be left with huge bills,
wondering how they are going to pay for the medicine they need to beat cancer.
Every year, there are 1900 new cancer diagnosis in Cape Breton. Each month, 45-60 patients rely on this fund for financial assistance, and unfortunately, this need is increasing steadily. In 2018 over $363,000 was disbursed to patients.
Join us on June 8th 2019 at Centre 200 for a great night of music and friendship as we join to support the Annual Benefit Concert in support of the Cape Breton Cancer Centre’s Cancer Patient Care Fund. One hundred percent of the proceeds raised through this benefit concert will be used to help these patients. Since 2005, 2 Million dollars has been disbursed to Cape Breton cancer patients from the Cancer Patient Care Fund.
We rely solely on the support of our community to make this benefit possible. This year’s artist line-up promises to be as impressive as it has been in the past!
